“Maternal Mortality represents a serious public health problem in our country. On the other hand, we also know thath after each maternal death there is a family and a social drama. For more than 20 years, the Maternal Ratio has fluctued between 39 and 50 maternal deaths per 100000 births. Most maternal deaths in Argentine occur within maternity hospitals. And its main causes are abortion, postpartum hemorraghe, hypertensive state of pregnancy, and infection (sepsis) associated with abortion and the purperium. It is essential to improve the quality of care in Obstetric Services, particularly that concerning the management of obstetric emergencies, so that their professional teams can act appropriately and without delay". AIMED AT

All professionals and health personnel involved in the care of the obstetric patient, namely: specialist and general practitioners, obstetrics graduates, technicians, nurses and advanced students.

OBJECTIVES                 

Know the current national recommandations on the management of obstetric emergency (OE); Recognize the OE; Assess the severity of a situation in the context of an OE; Treat the different OE scenarios; Know and apply resuscitation maneuvers; Prevent immediate postpartum hemorrhage; Apply hemostasis techniques; Know the non-technical skills that influences the performance of health teams; Apply concrete tools to improve performance and health outcomes related to OE.
